UCM manages the universitywide website, the front door to the university's vast web presence. servers 4 million visitors annually.

Rutgers Today is the official source for university news, delivering a daily stream of stories and videos from across the university that showcase our outstanding students and faculty, research and health breakthroughs, and community programs that are improving lives in New Jersey, the nation, and beyond.

Rutgers Magazine—which celebrates the research, teaching, and service mission of Rutgers as well as the achievements of its alumni—is published twice a year, in January and June, and distributed to alumni and friends of the university as well as to Rutgers board members, administrators, faculty, and staff.

UCM manages the official social media accounts for Rutgers University, including its presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

UCM oversees the implementation of policies that protect the Rutgers brand, including the policies on advertising, visual identity, photography and video, communicating with the media, trademark licensing, endorsements and sponsorships, and websites.

A parallel unit to UCM, Rutgers Communications and Marketing (R-Comm) serves the vital missions of the Rutgers University–New Brunswick and Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences communities.

To advance the awareness of Rutgers’ excellence and support a presidential initiative to improve Rutgers' reputation among leaders at peer universities, UCM launched the Rutgers Excellence campaign in 2021. Spotlighting the accomplishments and innovations of our scholars, our multichannel approach to content distribution reached nearly 47 million readers.

Rutgers Day is a chance to experience all the exciting things happening at New Jersey's state university. Led by the efforts of R-Comm, this major event brings live performances, exhibits, plenty of kids’ activities, demonstrations, and so much more to the Rutgers community and its neighbors.

The Current is a biweekly newsletter distributed via email to faculty and staff at Rutgers–New Brunswick and Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences. Produced by R-Comm, the newsletter contains official and timely information for faculty and staff.
